Protect your investment: Enjoy Flexibility of an unexpected change of plans and options should the weather not cooperate
Purchase optional trip cancellation protection to ensure peace of mind for this experience. This protection allows our guests to cancel your sailing trip for any reason up to 3 calendar days before the departure date and receive a full refund of your booking fee. This service aims to offer flexibility and security to our guests, understanding that plans can change unexpectedly. This includes Weather Protection.
While our yachts have covered enclosures, your sailing experience is mostly open and can be affected by weather. When Weather Protection is NOT purchased, plan on sailing rain or shine. We will only reschedule your sail if severe and dangerous conditions exist or develop while sailing. Light rain is not considered dangerous.
To cover weather-related changes/cancellations, you must purchase Weather Protection within 24 hours of booking or at least 10 days before your sail. When Weather Protection is purchased, if a poor weather forecast is confirmed by us 4 hours before we set off, you may pay a fee of 5% of the charter cost to reschedule for the same season or cancel your booking and receive a refund of your charter cost less 10%. Catering orders cannot be refunded.

When considering chartering a yacht in Canada, we know you have many options. Some of these options look super exciting and at ridiculously great prices. Recent trends in the industry have opened the door for many unqualified individuals to purchase boats and offer charter services to the unsuspecting public. It’s easy to create a website and even easier to just list a boat on sites such as Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, Getmyboat, Boat Setter and many others.
Unfortunately, many of these operators are NOT licensed, insured or qualified to accept your trust on the water.
In order to be licensed and insured a number of items MUST be in place. Listed are just a few.
Over the last few years there have been a number of deaths and even more accidents resulting from these types of operators. Be safe and know who you are getting on a boat with. All licensed operators should willingly display their credentials, and most are members of the Passenger & Commercial Vessel Association (PCVA).
